Are you a Structural Engineer looking for a change in career direction? As a Forensic Engineer you’ll be trusted with investigating the failure of structures and building components. This is an exciting and varied role, where no two cases are ever the same. 

We’ll provide you with a comprehensive set of survey equipment, full training, ongoing mentoring, an expert team of colleagues, performance-related bonus, pension, travel expenses, hybrid working, and the opportunity for great career satisfaction. 

Your week will involve inspecting and reporting on damaged buildings throughout Ireland, typically caused by fire, storm, water, subsidence or collapse. Each case will involve:

  • Inspecting for evidence of damage or defect.
  • Researching technical issues.
  • Authoring detailed reports.
  • Assessing repair options.
  • Liaising with clients. 

It is essential that you have each of the following:

  • Level 8 Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of  relevant engineering experience.
  • Excellent levels of report writing, verbal communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to use ladders safely, and to work safely at height and in spaces such as an attic. 
  • Full driving licence and own car.

Ideally you would also have:

  • Experience of building surveys.
  • Experience of the legal or insurance sectors.
