Ian Kavanagh

Ian is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of Engineers Ireland and the Association of Consulting Forensic Engineers. He has a degree in Structural Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Building Repair & Conservation from Trinity College Dublin. With 20 years of professional experience, he first worked as a Structural Engineer with a large multi-disciplinary firm, before working for specialist firms dealing with the investigation of property damage and liability claims. Ian has prepared over 1,000 technical reports into the causes of failures and losses, and has acted as an expert witness in numerous High Court and Circuit Court cases. His assessment has been trusted by insurers, lawyers and judges.



Simon Griffin

Simon is a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland. He has a degree in Structural Engineering and 16 years of engineering experience. His first ten years were with a leading engineering consultancy, where his roles included project manager, lead civil and structural engineer, project engineer, site engineer and health & safety advisor / PSDP. Simon brings his practical engineering knowledge to investigate including building collapse, construction defects, pyrite/pyritic heave, subsidence, fire, flood and storm damage.
