Are you a Structural Engineer looking for a change in career direction? As a Forensic Engineer you’ll be trusted with investigating the failure of structures and building components. This is an exciting and varied role, where no two days or cases are ever the same.

Your week will involve inspecting and reporting on damaged buildings, typically caused by fire, storm, water, subsidence or collapse. The buildings are typically in Leinster but they can be anywhere throughout Ireland. Each case will involve:
- Liaising with the property owner / their representative.
- Inspecting to record signs of damage or defect.
- Researching technical issues.
- Authoring detailed reports.
- Assessing repair options.
- Liaising with clients.
It is essential that you have each of the following:
- Level 8 Degree in Structural / Civil / Architectural Engineering.
- Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland or an equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Excellent organisational skills, as you will be responsble for planning, prioritising and delivering your workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in listening, reading, speaking and writing in English, equivalent to a C1 or higher on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Ability to carry and use ladders safely, and to work safely at height and in spaces such as an attic.
- Your own car and a Category B driving licence.
- The right to live and work in Ireland at the time of application; we are unable to provide visa or work permit sponsorship.
Ideally you will also have:
- Experience of building surveys; or
- Experience as an Assigned Certifier; or
- Experience of the legal or insurance sectors.
